In a professionally managed project, the use of work and monitoring tools is essential for many reasons. They structure and conceptualize the work, provide orientation for the staff, are proof of the procedures carried out and thus contribute to the transparency of the project execution. Tools are also important for demonstrating to third parties and donor agencies that the objectives, as defined in the project proposal, have been achieved in compliance with humanitarian standards and standard procedures.
